Advice or opinion

Setting up the pedals on my 27 hogshead with new cams and looking at pedal alignment. Have Rocky brakes with a homemade pedal (crafted looking at an original, using a wide pedal head). SO, I know I can heat and bend pedals where I want them, but this is bending against the main spine of the pedals. Also, since reverse is probably the least used pedal as far as really pushing on it, should I try to align with it, or choose a happy medium between all 3. Trying to do this before putting the engine in the car, but I know that floorboard height is a concern eventually.

I don't see anything wrong with them the way they are.

This is a Ford Z tool - it's used to bend the pedals cold and would place your reverse pedal centered between the other two as it should be !

Well, ok, I'll agree with the reverse pedal needing to be contered.

Good idea to get the pedals in the right position. I didn’t think about it until I got the engine bolted in and set the floorboards in only to find my size 13 got tangled up with a bent pedal.
Used a torch and straightened out the reverse pedal. It helped but I got the pedal extension for the reverse pedal and now no issues at all. It really does help in my case.

Hi all ;
I bend the brake pedal warm , so he is vertical [picture] .
For the other two I don't have a good measurement till now .
But the reverse is mostly OK .
But first I weld up the Pedal supports # 3436 -3442 .
So there is not any forward movement of the pedals, only sideways .

That’s a great picture. I’m assuming when you say welding up pedal supports, you are welding/building up the 2 cam surfaces and not actually welding the cams to the hogshead!?

Rob , Yes I am building up the 2 surfaces on the cams ,
and also I put some O rings between the cams and Hogs Head

I have done the O ring reaming, but purchased new pedal cams. Was going to try to maybe build up the pedal cams to eliminate slop, but reticent to try to machine/grind down the two surfaces to keep them evenly contacting the hogshead cams.....
Thanks!

Thanks to all, got things more evened up and aligned today. As an aside and a possible tip, I cut some conduit to use as a spacer to hold the pedals up solid against the cams. Made it a little easier to heat and bend the pedals to their final resting place.
