1927 Tudor followed me home

I am beginning to bring home a 1927 Tudor. Some years ago I helped the owner with a lot of his restoration but he was unable to finish it. I am not new to the “T” as in the 70’s I worked with my father restoring a 1927 Coupe and then more recently worked with him on a ‘15 runabout which I still own. (We did several others over the years ‘29 A, ‘33 model 40, ‘40 pickup, ‘47 coupe, ‘53 LIncoln)
I am a bit worried about the assembly where I didn’t help such as the differential as I worry about the gear lash and i found a bag with differential gear lock pins unused.
From what I can tell so far, the previous owner basically bought a car from Mac’s. There are bags and bags of parts unopened. This includes parts that would never have worn out. I tend to prefer Henry’s parts over repo parts.

I am new to the Muncie though, so I am sure to need help.

But the car all in all is restored and ready for assembly.

Now if I only had room. I have now completely mothballed my ‘51 Mercury restoration And, with great reluctance, I must step away from my 1910 IHC J-30. (I apologize for using words like IHC on this site)

Thanks for the add. I seem to have lost my old registration so I started all over.

Looks like a fun assembly project David. Thanks for sharing your good fortune. The only comments of substance I can provide: make sure you get a statement of differential installation. If none; open it up and follow instructions in the MTFCA front and rear end pamphlet. And, the Muncie tranny is a great piece of equipment but accidentally getting it in neutral while underway and you have no service brakes...very dangerous!

There are new Rocky Mountain brakes I had previously installed for him several years ago. But I am with you on the rear axle. years ago i snapped my pinion gear on my ‘15 going down a hill when I applied the brake to stop for a major stoplight (i don’t have AC brakes on it) Luckily the traffic was limited at that moment and i was able to make a wide right turn and avoid an accident. It was an hour later that i wondered why I didn’t put on the emergency brake, but things happen quickly. The pinion shot through my differential housing. It ends up that the pinion was flawed , but i suspect it was not in far enough and thus only caught a portion of the ring gear.

Since then I take the rear axle very seriously.

Uh huh George! (BTT) :)
Neat project David! Man, that's going to be beautiful right off the bat and you KNOW this car. Pretty neat and thank you for sharing with us. :)
I'll be one to say: IHC automobiles? Cool! Sometimes I hide words like Old Tractor, saying OT, right here on the board.
It'll be fun to see your progress and hope you keep us in the loop. :)
