Got a call from a nearby Farmer. His Grandfather bought the car brand new. Was driven on the farm until bought a 26 Chevy. Parked the T in the corner of the barn. Just pulled it out.

It looks wonderful! But I don't know how much of it is '16. The fenders appear to be. Radiator and hood are not. Engine and chassis not known.

What an interesting car. And if they have some early photos or registration papers etc. that would be fantastic.

Like all Ts it has some parts changed out. Clearly the pickup box was not from the factory.

And of course the demountable front wheels and wishbone under the front axle were not available until 1919. ref: http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/F-H.htm#fr1 1919-1920
The front radius rod now fastened below the axle at the spring perch studs.
Because the hood has the holes rather than the rivets holding the hood handle to the hood it is 1920-23ish. Ref: http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/F-H.htm#hood1
1920-1923
In July 1920 the handle design eliminated the rivets by using an extrusion of the handle as a “rivet.”
And the windshield to body brackets are from Feb 1917'ish to 1922 style ref: http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/U-Z.htm#wshld The mounting bracket was now separate and screwed to the windshield frame. (After about Feb. 1917.)
But great news - it is NOT a cut off but a roadster body.

And it has the correct style 1915-16 curved but NOT crowned rear fenders and the 1915-16 style front fenders.

Better photos will help with the ID process if that is desired. If so the following would be a good help:

Engine serial number (feel free to XXX the last 3 digits)
Engine casting date
Body number (especially if it has a date code) please see: the forum posting “Home for the Holidays” at: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/40322.html to see where and what to look for.
Raising the hood to see if the car has the 1915-16 hood former. The 1917-1922 hoods will fit right over that hood former when the brass radiator is replaced with a black low radiator and hood.

What’s neat about this car is that it was put inside and not left outside behind the barn or on the backside of the back fourty! My bet is that’s it’s pretty much a 16 that was a used and a few parts that were replaced along the way with what would fit. If it’s been on the same place all these years I wonder if the turtle deck is still around somewhere. Neat find!

Those tires are aired up That means there is 100 year old air in them their tires - might be worth something.

Great find, looks like it just needs an oil change and a fill up to start. Wouldn't be surprised if it did.

I'm always amazed when cars emege from storage after 5 decades or more.

And just think, there may be many more out there. %O0
