I made a gasket board!

Post by Jeepbone1 » Fri Jul 10, 2020 6:11 pm

Bought a bunch of gaskets yesterday so I had to finish a project I’ve been wanting for a while. Just wish there was a spot on the poster for head gaskets and the hogshead felt. I didn’t realize there were that many in there. Plenty of those hard to find copper head gaskets too! Now to find enough wall space for this massive thing.

That turned out beautiful - even the other half saw it (who's not into the old car thing as am I - sad, eh?) and said it looks like modern art! You've also inspired me - I've thought about doing this for a while now, and it looks super functional.

I wonder if Ford ever had something like this for the dealers parts showroom...

Yep

Ford made gasket boards for service agents.

And the major aftermarket gasket companies made similar boards for their brands of Ford T gaskets.

I searched for many years to locate an original Ford board - I have several aftermarket also.

Have seen only a rare one or two original gaskets boards at swaps, and priced to match.

So did the only simple thing, made a copy of one. ;)
