Mike and Classtique

Post by Art Ebeling » Sat Jul 11, 2020 7:43 pm

I called Mike at Classtique Upholstery and asked if he would make some original style top bow webbing for my 1911 Touring. He knew exactly what I wanted and asked for the top bow measurements. I told him I was in no hurry thinking if it took a month or so I might be ready for it by then. Today, just a couple of weeks later. my webbing arrived and it is perfect. This hobby has a great source in Mike and Classtique. Art

I bought the leather upholstery kit for my 13 touring. The quality is unbelievable, and Mike is extremely helpful. My 13 had factory straps hung from the top to hold the rear curtain and side curtains. They are leather on one side and leatherette on the other. I sent one to Mike and within a few weeks, I had a complete set of eight in the mailbox. The guy is a class act.

Ditto to what Jim Lyons just posted. Same with my '13. He even has the correct pattern for the "little flaps" for the
'13 top boot. Cost a bit extra to have them, but of course worth it. I don't think other vendors have this correct part.
Another thing Mike did, per request, and I always advise, was to make the top boot an extra inch bigger "all the way around".
Wow what a difference in getting the stinkin' thing put over the top! Try that with an "over the counter" type top boot and
watch the seams bust open. Been there, done that.

Mike is a great guy. I've been helping him for years. He is always grateful. I just heard from him yesterday, and he says he has been working 70 hours a week. That must mean people like his work.

Yes, Mike was very helpful when I couldn’t figure out the written instructions for the seat kit. The product is good, the support is great ... if only they had better written instructions and videos for their products.

I have had the good fortune to work with Mike on several upholstery projects on a couple of cars I have owned in the past. Great support from him. The last time I bought a top boot I drove to his new shop in Lindstrom MN. Good thing he has lots of room there as he sure is one busy guy! He always has time to answer questions or give info. He and his company are a huge asset to our hobby.
