According to the Price List of Parts for 1909, the front spring is composed of seven leaves. What am I missing here? Can someone help me with this and if I am missing something I would like to acquire it. Thanks

I would have to say yes - most likely the short top one. The spring clips for that spring are tough to locate - later clips seem to be too long ?

I don't have a 1909 to check, but judging by my 1915 I would guess that your missing top leaf would be about 9½" long. Lang's catalogue shows it as tapered like the other leaves. The catalogue doesn't show individual leaves for sale, but all the dealers have used parts they don't advertise. You have to ask.

If you want to find another tapered leaf, the shortest one, you could use a later leaf which are more plentiful and grind it down to a taper. Or just find the later short leaf and use that.
You would really have to look to notice it. Depends on how correct you want to be of course.

So based upon what has been posted thus far it seems the smallest or top leaf is missing. Can someone please post the dimensions of the leaves of the spring assembly? Thanks

I measured several. The shortest is 12 1/4". The longest is 13".

Check with Bob at Bobs antique auto parts. Last I remember he had the spring clips for the rolled eye. I had to have them too and he had quite a few. Also with the clips it takes a long rivet to secure the clip to the rolled eye. Bobs also had those along with some NOS square head bolt to hold everything together. Hope you find what you need.

Mike, you lost me a bit, not that that is hard to do! On our Canadian sourced cars, the clip goes under the spring, and is held in place with the square headed bolt passing trough the clip and the rolled end of the spring leaf. Where is there somewhere to use a long rivet?

I believe some of the earlier cars used a rivet.
