Torque value for magnet bolts
What is the recommended torque for magneto magnet bolts?

No factory torque specs on any Model T fasteners. So just snug them up tight with a 6"-8" long wrench.
If you want to use a fancy torque wrench, this chart works as a guide. The #3254 Magnet bolt is 3/8" dia. Old bolts from those days are grade 2 approx. Specs would be determined by the bolt wear and hole thread condition.
Early ones were wired, later the wire was figured not needed, just wrench tight the bolts.

Didn’t no that about the magnet bolts and whether to wire them or not. I had to think twice about it after seeing this post. The last T I restored was my 21 Touring. I found a correct engine for that year at Chickasha and rebuilt it. It had the magneto bolt wires on and I rewired them after the transmission rebuild.
I have transmissions with bolts with the holes in the magnet bolts with and without the wire. So I guess that would be a way of dating the transmissions. The Ford service manual shows the bolts with no wire in them because the car being worked on in the manual is a 24 or 25 which would be the later transmissions with no wire magnet bolts.
Another time saving effort for Ford. Probably saved about 5 or so minutes, maybe more?
