Diskies, no diskies.

Presto! Change-o! Off with the diskies, on with the wires. The disks performed flawlessly, but I think they look funny on a stock car. I think that they look great on speedsters, however.

Looks great either way Tom... but you are forgetting the 3rd option...

Some people like disk some like wire and others like wood, me I like wheels with good tires!

Which ever way you like it best.

You don’t see the wheels when you are driving...

Model A taillights don't look right on a Model T, and Chevrolet wheels don't either!

My ol rusty roadster pictured above came to me with Chebby disk wheels... I would probably have liked the disk wheels better if I had a good set of rims with em. They would click and squeak and wobbled like a drunken monkey as I drove. I was happy to get rid of them.
The wire wheels are a great improvement over any demountable rim type wheel... no matter how many spokes they may have

I think I could learn to like the disk wheels. Some things don't look right to me because I'm not used to seeing them that way.
Great photos.

Chris, they are legal for the 500, as of right now. I have an extra set that I just peeled off of my car.

Hmmm.
Those spokes exceed 100mph airspeed at the top of their travel; I wonder whether there's a drag improvement?
Maybe you need them on the inside too.

I'll be curious to see if it changes your top speed for next years Montana 500, Tom... I was always told by some old timers the diskies were more aerodynamic than the wireys, but it'd be interesting to take a known car (like yours) that has speed records and see what difference the wires make to the discs.
