Going through all my original head light and tail light plugs I ran across this Presto single contact plug and socket combination, very cool
does anyone know what this was used on? Bob

Likely plugged into dash female socket, so two lamps could be wired up , like a ditch lamp or trouble lamp.
Haven’t seen a duplex plug like that, but if you had one then both these lamps could work together at the same time

Headlamp style plugs were used as basic power plugs for accessory items. Might just be a splitter.

Not much help on that one, Bob, but these may help on others. Print it out.

Funny it has a conductive gold piece on the side, might be brass, says Presto on the side, thanks for the help, Bob

I wonder if it was turn a headlight into a floodlight... it would be interesting to que it up into a headlight to see the result, I'm thinking with 2 bulbs closer to the reflector it would give a way wider beam than the one in the middle...

Bob
Reading a newly acquired Fordowner magazine, found this adv. for that dual socket you have.
As the ad states, the double socket is useful on the dash, for providing electric source to extras, like a trouble light. Many cars of that era had a dash receptacle for attaching extras.
