Post by Mountainrider » Thu Aug 20, 2020 8:43 pm

The press in oil seals on my modern outer axle seal from Lang’s got chewed up. Could some one look at theirs a send me the seal #. I matched the O rings but having trouble finding the axle oil seal.

Just looked up the invoice. Bought back in 2001

The ones that are available from the vendors today don't look like yours, but may still use the same seal?? The seal # is POS26407 TF marked PEER TAIWAN.

Hi Neil,
If the OD is 1.576 or 40mm & .306 or8mm try tc 26 40 8 4 IVAK These seem to work well in the 2510N & the 2510NB seal sets I have. I know they are made in China but they were all my seal house had that matched up.

Could only find 26-40-7 from any local venders. Found these on eBay. They are discontinued. If they work I’ll find another set to have on hand.

These modern seals do not work well. the seals are very narrow and will not follow the axle as it moves off center from bearing and axle wear. this causes a seal gap on the opposite side that results in a leak. Our modern seals are a boot type seal and will follow the axle movement. Glen
