Need a recommendation for a good cooling system rust inhibitor. One of my Ts has turned its cooling water red.

Water Wetter, Purple Ice, 40 Below are available at most auto supply stores. Be sure to use the proper amount based on the volume of water your cooling system holds.

I recently used a product named "Thermocure" in a friend's Model A that had sat quite some time - drained the crud out added 1 gal. of water, a quart of the additive then topped off the radiator - drove the car approx. 200 miles, drained it off, flushed 3 times until running clear then added distilled water & 1 gal. coolant - good to go !

No-rosion is good and their website has technical articles. Use reverse-osmosis (RO) purified water rather than distilled, unless you are using at least 50% coolant.

Proper mix of your choice of Conventional Antifreeze should provide adequate rust prevention after you get it cleaned out.
Greg suggestion is a good one rather than Distilled water.

How about a water soluble lubricant used in machine shops to lubricate and prevent over heating of turning drill bit points, or a water soluble water pump lubricant? Rust will not form in oily water. Jim Patrick

If you have RO system on your kitchen tap - its filter may provide all the reverse-osmosis (RO) purified water needed. Check your filter for details. If you don't, some bottled water is RO purified BUT some add back minerals to improve taste. In checking Aquafina seems to be un-enhanced with minerals removed from the final product - cost is minimal as well

If your looking to clean out radiator here is a simple process

I used water wetter and water in my Model A for a summer. It did not protect against rust.
The directions say use 15% anti freeze for street use. If I did it again I would add some anti freeze.
