Put on new lacing on my radiator shell but not sure what to do with the two ends, do I just trim it close to the end and just let it hang or wrap it around ?

Thanks,
Bill...

Trim ends even with the bottom of the shell flange. The purpose of the lacing is to prevent metal to metal contact and the noise that would occur from intense vibration. Jim Patrick

OK, then what about putting a spot of silicon on the very bottom to help keep the lacing in place?

Just cut it of an inch or so from the last hole. It won't go anywhere.

Ok, Thanks guys, that is what I'll do. I just wasn't sure what the proper method was.

The lacing is wax impregnated which made it stiff enough that I just bent the last 2 inches or so and stuck it between the shroud and the radiator. It isn't going anywhere.

My car should be all black. A previous owner plated the headlights, shroud, and side lights. 1920 - wanted it to look like a brass car.

I believe the original lacing wrapped around and tucked between the shroud and the lacing on the loop above it.

Ford Service photos of end of radiator shell lace, just trim the loose end short to hang just inside the shell behind the frame.

Wondering about that, but still looks neat....

Sounds like a plan....
