Just thought I would try out the new forum. We are still looking for a line shaft driven vertical milling machine. I’ve found several horizontal milling machines, but am holding out for a vertical one. The type I am looking for would be an antique version of a modern Bridgeport. Many of the old machines were converted to run with an electric motor, but should be easily changed back to line shaft driven. I’m sure there is one out there somewhere.

Nice work on the museum machine shop. You may already be familiar with the American Precision Museum in VT. I visited last summer (they are closed over the winter months) and they mentioned an upper floor containing stored machine tools not currently on display. Even if they do not have items for sale or loan they may have useful info to share. They have Bridgeport Mill Serial number 1 on display. web-- https://www.americanprecision.org/ good luck! jb
