OT: Dr. Dyke’s Anatomy of the Automobile
Hey All, welcome to 2019
Many of you may know that I’ve been working on a makjor body of art work based on the rebuilding of a model T Ford as a metaphor for the maintenance and aging of our own bodies. I’m now supplying the gallery that will open my exhibit in April with images for the catalog. I’d like to find someone who could send me a high resolution scan of the cover of a Dr.Dyke’s Anatomy of the Automobile in good condition. If you have one of these or know anyone who does please contact me via email mosterman@eastman.org

Mark, there should be someone out there with a nice cover. My 24 edition has all the lettering worn completely off and is a blank slate.
Guys, I want to see too.

Mark,
The outer cover of my 1911 Dyke's book is very poor but the inside front title page is very readable but frayed around the outer edge. It is loose from the binding and I could mail that page to you for photographing if you want. When you're done just send it back. Let me know if that will help.

Thanks. Could you take a quick picture of it and email it to me? Just to see what it looks like. I really need the cover with the color and the car.

I'll try to get a picture of it later today. The ink color is red and black on that page.
I will also send a picture of a book by Victor Page from 1920 The title is "The Model T FORD CAR" It has a great picture of a Touring on it. I'm no George Eastman so hopefully the pictures will turn out OK.

The set consists of working models of autos done on card board and paper plus individual booklets, all in the original box. Date fr om abour1910. I have not heard of anyone else have the set as nice as the one I have.

Here's a cover of later than original 1904 issue, taken off the internet, guess the original version cover would be much better.

Re: OT: Dr. Dyke’s Anatomy of the Automobile
Actually it’s the earlier Dr. Dyke’s Anatomy of the Automobile with the illustration of the automobile I need. Anyone?

Re: OT: Dr. Dyke’s Anatomy of the Automobile
The set I was referring to is the working model set with working models of automobile mechanisms issue in 1912-23. The models are flat or near so and are made of metal mounting on card stock. There are 12 instruction books. I will see if I can post the photos.

Re: OT: Dr. Dyke’s Anatomy of the Automobile
Ha .. thanks guys. All these versions and illustrations are really interesting and if I were interested in some fun reading they would be tops on my list. But ...remember that the reason I want a reproduction of the 1904 cover is becasue of the graphics and title Dr. Dyke’s Anatomy of the Automobile. The title of my upcoming exhibit of model T photographs is Anatomy. That’s why I need that reference.

Maybe none on this forum has that 1904 book. This is cover shot of the 1904 first issue from the web. Maybe you could post on HCCA site or AACA as more early auto fans are there that may help you?
