Just to be clear, Steve is not the seller. If you click on the map you will see that the seller is in Georgia, U.S.

If not Steve, maybe it is Dallas?

It's Steve. A perfect illustration of how an image posted on the web becomes public domain for future use by anybody.

WOW. He is pretty proud of those. $650.00??? I have two sets of them I think I paid $200.00 for the best one a couple of years ago. They still have the label on them.

I'm always amazed at the boldness a random person will have when selling something online and totally pirating someone else's image.

It's not pirating, stealing or illegal- the image is in the public domain and free for anyone to use.

Slight drift but still appropriate for the topic at hand, considering the discussion that has already transpired above.
A while back, someone was selling a wicker Hawkeye Refrigerator Picnic Basket on Minneapolis Craigslist.
In the listing, along with photos of the actual basket being sold, the seller included a photo taken at a familiar Twin Cities location of a local Model T Ford that was outfitted with such a basket on the running board. I knew the owner of the Model T and had seen the car many times, including the picnic basket on the running board, over the years. The photo was taken from an MTFCA forum post.
Frankly, I have no problem with a seller including a photo from the internet as long as they state in the ad that the photo was taken from the internet and was not taken by the seller, that the photo is not of the actual item but that of a similar or identical item, and that the photo is merely for references purposes only.

I didn't know Abner Peabody had a Model T.

The tanks that ding-dong has for sale on Craigslist aren’t even close to the ones on the pirated picture of Steve’s car...

Semantics
The cans on Steve’s car are not the ones being sold. There may be actual photos attached to the add but he’s leading with something that’s not real and makes no attempt to say that the photo with the ancient farmer

isn’t just there for representative purposes, etc.
The seller’s acting sneaky...like a pirate.

Hey, knowing Steve has a set on his car makes me want a set on mine that much more!
