timer problems

i took my timer off to clean, and when i put it back on, and all the wires, and tried to start it, it would not start and the carburetor started backfiring. any ideas? its a tiger timer.

My guess would be that you got a wire or two in the wrong place.

Be sure all wires are in the right place.

Did you remove the roller? Some CAM shafts are drilled all the way through allowing the roller to be installed 180 degrees off (i.e. Backwards)

yes, it turns out i had the roller backwards!
