1927 Coupe Bumpers--Front and Rear

Did front and rear bumpers come on 1927 coupes from the factory or were they an add on accessory by dealers? Were bumpers chrome or painted or both?
They were optional on 26/27 models, the frame is drilled from the factory, they were nickel plated, i installed the ones from the vendors they are stainless.
