Don’t know if that type of handles were used on older cabinets. Just a guess.

That's a Carter carburetor cabinet in case you are not aware.

That's why carburetor is misspelled as "carbureter" and the "CAR" and "TER" are large prominent while "BURE" is smaller.

I have seen a number of Carter carburetor cabinets over the years at estate sales. However, it has always been the cabinet with only drawers. I have never seen a taller one with pigeon holes like the one in the photo.
