My 15 runabout has a steel hood.
Would the 15/16 steel hoods have these plates?
They don't seem to be needed.
I can see them on an aluminum hood because it is softer and could wear.

My hood is after market and doesn't have the plates.
I ordered them from Langs and have them.
They don't fit correctly at the bottom and I can't see why Henry would have used them.

What plates are you talking about? How about a link to Lang's item so some of us know what you are asking about. That is why I said you are missing something, thought maybe you forgot to add a photo of the part.

Looks like some of the current repos aluminum hoods have them and some don't. I would not think that the steel 16 hood would need them as they would be no different then the later ones.
