wanting demountables for our '21 Touring

Post by thom » Fri Sep 18, 2020 11:07 pm

I would like to gather up a set of demounables for our '21 Touring. I thought this might be a good start. These are about an hour away, and they're cheap.https://images.craigslist.org/00505_iV6 ... 00x450.jpg

I'll have to make the drive to check out the condition and see if they are a match or a different mixture of brands/mfrs.

To my eyes, in pic #2 all appears well? (One down, 3 inners & one outer to go?) Not counting tires, of course.
In pic #1 I see 4 lugs present on both rims, but does the hub look "boogered" up?
In pic #3 the rim in the foreground appears to be missing one lug, the other possibly hidden behind the plastic totes?
What about the hub? We're obviously looking at the backside, according to the bolts in the felloes.
Knowing the whole lot is cheap, if the stuff is in decent condition and matching, is it worth grabbing?

Really photos are poor, but zooming appears one has been taken apart, and the rims are poor. Can see wallowed out lugs and missing lug. Plus the clincher rims look too sharp bead and rusted away. Agree, that front hub looks like it was banged hard on the edge. May not even be worth a cheap price, put that amount toward a better set.
