Who can guess the purpose of this accessory? I know because I found it in its intended spot on a Model T Ford. It is made of brass and felt lined.

Wow, that sure is a pretty bitsa!!! Until I saw the second picture I was thinking a rocker switch or foot operated carb adjustment pedal or something...
