Last weekend was the 40th anniversary of the Bay to Birdwood vintage and classic car rally in Adelaide South Australia,it is a 55 mile run from the beach around the city and some steep climbs into the Adelaide hills and is a challenging drive for all participants particularly veterans and this year they added classics as well to expand the entries locally due to border restrictions stopping interstate entries over covid concerns . My son wanted to take our 19-12 Duncan+Fraser tourer as it was made and sold in Adelaide body wise with running gear from Canada of course and as the T has never had a formal restoration ever it was decided to enter it into a preservation class designed to encourage owners to keep original cars trucks and motorbikes in near condition to when they left the factory. Other entries in our class were a 1923 AJS and a Matchless m bike as well as a 1925 Chev Buckboard and !927 Chev truck and 1936 Morris all largely untouched apart from mechanical upkeep to make them safe , The run was challenging with 1255 entries on the same stretch of road but the T and driver were up to it and we were rewarded with winning the class ,with a formal presentation by the SA Governor at Government house in the city next day as well as a studio photo shoot for the four winning categories to be included in a documentary to celebrate 40 years of the event . A fun but tiring day .

Well done Ian.
"Truly Fair" is a wonderful car, and along with Bob’s car, probably my two favorite Model T's.
