13T - Carbide Generator Make
Nine and a half years later... got a carbide generator at the Luray swap meet. Was rereading a thread where I asked about carbide generators and remember Bob Corio’s painting a picture of pleasing the crowd with magical T skills...

I’ve read carbide generators were made by Victor, JNO, and some other folks. I’ve found a few pictures of Victors and they appear to have writing along the top and some a brass device at the top to approximate the drip rate. Is this generator a Corcoran or Brown possibly? I don’t see any identifying marks on it.
Thank you for your time,
Darin

John Brown.
Does it have the insides?
Looks like a nice one.

Definitely Brown or E&J and not any of the others. Ken, how do you tell between Brown and E&J?

I think Jno. Brown generators have the hooked pointer for adjustment with the circular scale showing drops per minute wherever the sharp tip of the pointer is pointing.

Re: 13T - Carbide Generator Make
There seem to be two variations of Victor Black & Brass generators.
A smooth top water tank (early) and an embossed (late) with the identification.
It seems the late Victor is the only Black & Brass generator used on Fords
to carry identification. Some "early" Victor's may have brass clamps but I have no pictures of that.
Anyone?
During this time, Thomas Corcoran and his brothers owned both the Victor and Corcoran Lamp Companies.
