Well, it gives them whatever info you chose to put in your profile, no more.

Try this:
Click on your user name on the upper right of the screen, and go down this rabbit hole: User Control Panel/Board Preferences/Edit Global Settings; on the Global Settings page there should be a category called Hide My Online Status, click yes and follow the instruction

In the User Control Panel, Under Board Preferences, you can hide your on line session.
Hiding that will remove your name from that list at the bottom.

Why do or would people care if anyone knows they’re online or not? What are you trying to hide?
