Are the front fender brackets made of cast iron or cast steel?

Not cast iron. Either cast or forged steel.

For what year are you asking?

They are made of some steel I believe. They are not being reproduced for the most part. These are one item that ought to saved when junking old T fenders that are to far gone to repair. They usually out last the sheet metal fenders.

They are forgings. They can easily be bent cold and often the ones you find have been bent over the years as a result of accidents and people sitting on the fender.

It makes a big difference whether you are talking about the frame to fender "irons" which are most often called "fender brackets" as opposed to the somewhat more correct "fender irons" (for 1909 through '25, the '26/'27 is a totally different animal and I have never owned one myself)). Or are we discussing the "bracket" that is riveted to the fender itself which is then connected to the frame to fender irons?
The reason I mention all this is that I see some of the answers above refer to one, some to the other.

Colloquialisms. Why is it always colloquialisms.

From what I have come to understand and from Ford parts books fender irons are the 4 iron fender irons or maybe fender supports that hold the fenders to the car itself.
Fender brackets are the brackets that the fender irons attach to that are riveted under the crown of the fenders. Those are the brackets I was referring to that aren’t being reproduced.

The fender brackets as defined above are stamped steel, riveted to the fenders.
