I often hear others' recollections or speculation that these skinny T tires really cut through the snow and make for easy going — that's never been my experience. I can spin the tires shifting into high and even minor grades need a running start.

Looks like fun.

Tire chains make all the difference! My 25 coupe that my grandfather drove in south central Indiana has a large number of dents in the rear fenders, from the inside where chain links broke and slapped them! Just keep them in good repair! He used them in the mud of spring mud season as well! I have seen 3/4"-1" Manila rope wrapped around the tire through the spokes, leaving a gap, work well too, just avoid bare roads!

I like the ropes Bill. I pull the grandkids in the pasture on the sleds useing ropes on the tires. Works great in snow .

Tire studs might be a option to consider?

Thinking about this I realize that I have a pair of tractor tread 21” tires. With studs they would work pretty good!!

Another option to consider is I’m pretty sure that knobby motorcycle tires are available in 21” size.

I bought this car at an auction in 2006 — in amongst the junk under the back seat was a set of chains.

I used them occasionally a few years ago, but was plagued by frequent breakage. The rope idea sounds like fun.
