Value of rebuilt 1910 short block

Richard. That would be very hard to say. It would all depend on the condition of the block, cracks? re-bore or re-sleeve?, stripped threads?. push rod guide replace or ream? valve seats and machine the mains to take babbitt? The list would grow, but it wouldn't be the cost to be concerned about, it would be the right shop to do it.

Bore .030 over, no cracks, new valves and seats, new lifters, reground crank , new babbitt in mains and liteweight rods, new timing gears, new valve springs, new pistons and rings,, surfaced decked, Stipe 250 cam with fitted bearings. Everything done well I can see.

What you mentioned that’s been done to a short block with no cracks would be around 3000.00 or more.
The value would rise because it’s a 1910 block. Early good blocks always command a higher cost when there are in good shape. I’m not into the very early Fords but I would think asking 7500+ wouldn’t be to far off for a pretty much renewed short block.

When I was restoring the 1909, I found a crack behind the cam gear. Fixing it using loc-n-stitch was $1000 so I asked around for a replacement block but found that a rebuilt 09 block fixed correctly was worth around $6000. So I went with the lok-n-stitch on top of the regular rebore, hardened valve seats and new babbitt costing around $2500

The question would be if you can find another open valve block, it's value?? 6 to 10K? then rebuild on top of that. If you are able to pick this one up under 10 that would be a score

Another factor that is important is who did the rebuild. I bought a car a few years back that supposedly had a rebuilt block, and I had to tear it down and redo everything.
