1925 Firewall Differences?

Post by BHarper » Sun Nov 15, 2020 1:15 pm

Greetings All,

As I was culling through some high firewalls I noticed the differences in these two. One has the late style clipped corner patent plate mounted low in the usual location while the other one has it mounted high, above the mixture rod and choke wire holes.
Other differences are the length of the oval hole below the low patent plate and the size of the rivets used to retain the firewall hood lacing.

I wonder if the high mount plate firewall might be a running change, but why and for what purpose? This inquiring mind would like to know.
