Join us in welcoming Rachel Hughes as the new Executive Director of the MTFCA and Model T Museum.

Rachel Hughes of Richmond, Indiana was recently selected to serve as Executive Director of the Model T Ford Club of America and the Model T Museum. The announcement was made by current MTFCA Executive Director, Susan Yaeger, who is retiring on December 18.

Rachel has lived in Richmond since 1994. She and her husband, Ron, own the Tin Lizzie Cafe and Tin Cup Tea and Gift Shop in Richmond. They own a 1924 Model T Ford Roadster and have been active in the local Henry’s Hoosiers chapter and also volunteered at the 2008 Centennial T-Party. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University, a Master’s degree from Indiana University, and certificates in Fund Raising Management and Nonprofit Executive Leadership.

She is an active volunteer both in the community and the state having served on the Board of Aviation Commission for the City of Richmond, the Kiwanis Club of Richmond, and several other boards and advisory councils.

“I know our members and Chapter leaders will enjoy working with Rachel. She brings a wealth of talents and experiences to this role. I could not be more confident in leaving the MTFCA in such good hands!”

Susan,

Thank you for all your support and help over the years. Best wishes in your retirement. And we hope to see you the next time we visit Richmond.

Rachel,

Congratulations on your new mission! I enjoyed reading on the Tin Lizzie Café site that you found and purchased your first T (with some help from Henry’s Hoosier’s Model T Club members) as a surprise anniversary gift for your husband Ron (ref: https://www.thetinlizziecafe.com/our-story ). Nice looking 1924 Roadster!

We look forward to meeting you the next time we are able to visit Richmond. And supporting you the best we can from South Carolina until we can hopefully move closer to Richmond.

Respectfully submitted,

Hap & Sue Tucker 1915 cut off

You have done a good job Susan. Welcome Rachael. Hopefully, this COVID will be over with soon and things can resume as before. At least, you will have a little slack time to get used to your new responsibilities.

I was also going to say that Rachel Hughes has to fill some mighty big shoes left behind by our friend Susan Yaeger but that could mean that there are some big feet involved so I have to change things a bit. Indeed there are some big qualities to be filled that include a big heart, big talent, big energy, big vision, big leadership, and big, big friendliness. I wish Rachel the very best in the this new role and heartily thank Susan for her dedication and positive results she has accomplished for all members of MTFCA.

Hello Susan,

Congratulations to Rachel on being appointed the position of the club’s new Executive Director.

All of the above sentiments echo my thoughts and I couldn't agree more. You will be missed Susan !!!

With all of my dealings with the club since you became Director, you have always been most helpful, courteous, and an absolute ambassador for the Model T movement.

From down under, best wishes for your retirement.

John Page, Australia.
