Who Needs a TT Popcorn Truck?
Got a call on this yesterday. TT Miner Company Popcorn truck. Sorry for the pictures but the garage is pretty cramped. Not sure what the disposition of it will be yet. Family is wanting to sell but not sure if they’ll use an auction or list in some other manner. I’ve no interest or financial gain in it, just wanted to let everyone know what’s on the horizon. Will try to post better pictures once they get it running and out of the garage.

All that shiny aluminium, stainless steel and plastic plumbing may mean it is a modern creation which could meet present day standards for food preparation, allowing it to be used commercially.

Looks like a Bobby Braun one. He was in Bozeman, Montana and they all met health department standards.

I might be interested. It looks like a lot of work and fun if we were to use it for what it’s intended.

Re: Who Needs a TT Popcorn Truck?
I had a chance to buy one like this in the sixties for $2000. The owner had all the stuff to change it to a brass radiator like the photo. I hate it when people do this. The truck should be left as it was originally made!

That is one well thought out and pretty truck... and a fun moneymaker on top of it!

Re: Who Needs a TT Popcorn Truck?
Larry, I reckon this one is as it was originally made. It has been made up from a TT frame, some 1915 parts, probably repop fenders and a whole heap of later than 1960's appliances in the workhouse. Nothing wrong with that, but it is hardly a ruined original.

If it was original, you could not sell any prepared food from it as they do not met health safety standards. They are very unique and just cool.

Re: Who Needs a TT Popcorn Truck?
I agree - it was built to work. Depending on the price when it goes on the blocks, I might be interested... we have enough events here from spring through mid fall that it could become kind of a local landmark... It might even be expanded to incorporate other goodies - not sure about a cotton candy spinner (runs off the rear wheel? ) but it has a soda spigot, plumbing, I'm assuming it has LPG so maybe a hot dog roller, I don't know...
This (deleted) covid thing has me kind of locked down, but this is the kind of fun project that would be a boon for the community, and also be a fun post-retirement income source. Wish I could look at it closer... I've thought about a few different cars, but this one has my interest piqued.
And even though it's an older food truck, you can still get it fixed up to meet local health dept regs.

Re: Who Needs a TT Popcorn Truck?
I’ll keep everyone informed when it goes up on the block. It’s in Indiana about a 100 miles from me. If I get the opportunity I’ll get more pictures.

Re: Who Needs a TT Popcorn Truck?
Here’s the link to the sale for the TT Popcorn truck. Looks like they set a really low reserve on it. Should be a reasonable deal for someone.

Re: Who Needs a TT Popcorn Truck?
Someone can make some real good spending money. Popcorn is easy to sell, and would be a hit at local cars shows swapmeets once life gets back to normal.

The Purple Cow
One of the vehicles I transported at no charge to
The MTFCA Museum is “ The Purple Cow “.
The daughter of the man who restored it with wood from his cherry orchard reached out to me a few years ago and thanks to Jerry Kramer we worked out a deal to have it on loan to the museum.
It is always been for sale:
