LED dash light

Now that the car is running well, and the days are shorter (**sigh**) .... I'd like to install a dash light. My switch/ammeter panel has 3 holes ... looks like 2 were likely screw/small bolt holes for mounting, and the middle for a wire. I'll be looking for one, and if need to, order a new one.

I have LEDs for all the other lights ... head lamps, cowl, brake and turn signals, I'd like to go with LED for the dash lamp. In this case, however, I don't know as I would really need or want to go with an obnoxious bright light, but do like the efficiency of them.

I imagine SOMEone out there has used an LED for a dash light??

Dennis : I do not have a dash light...... but when you do find one, check the bulb, or socket, for what 6V LED bulb would fit. Those dash lights do have a cover to direct the light downward so you won't be blindfolded from it's glare at night.

I just remembered, I got LED replacement headliner lights for our older Subaru and RSV4s.... I'll wait and see what base the one I end up with has, and can likely find a fit.
Thank a!

Check out these new ammeters from Lang's with the LED backlight if you don't want to drill holes in your dash to see the meter at night.

Those are great units, but they have not been manufactured or available for over a year.

You can than Birdhaven for that problem.

I had one of those illuminated ammeters from Fun Projects. Just found it the other day. Apparently, I bought it in 2016! I never put it in, and just installed am ammeter look-alike that is really a speedometer, from John Regan. Works great! But .... It doesn't have a light.

I do want something I can see motlre than just the meter, though.
