I am restoring a 26 Fordor and want it to be as close to original as possible, but I also plan to show it and drive it.

Toward those ends I am looking for a set of signal lights that I can magnetically attach to the tops of my rear fenders when driving and stow under my rear seat when showing.

Does anyone know of such being produced, or of anyone able to fabricate them?

Bill, you might check with some local towing companies. I have seen an arrangement such as you'd like in use by several different towing businesses here in the northern Kentucky area.

I've been eyeing up something like this combo light bar, brake light and turn signal. Maybe not this exact product, but seems to me it may be adaptable to a T. I really like the built-in decelerometer for braking.

Also, I am certain this particular topic has been covered before on the forum. A good search might be in order. Mark Osterman also recently posted a turn signal how to video that looked informative.

I adapted HF magnetic trailer lights and set them on my fenders. I had to use welding rod hooks and bungees to keep them from bouncing off.

Since one of them shook apart on a country road I've decided to do something else for tail lights.

My experience with ELights is they are unsafe. Mine will not flash even though the steering column switch is flashing. Then when the switch is turned off, the signals continue to flash. I've sent several emails to Egypt Garage with no reply.

Get a second 26 light and put it on the right fender and convert the sockets to double filament. Most people will not know or care that the second light did not come on the car. If you don't want to do that then put a plug behind the spare tire and use the U-Haul or Harbor Freight magnetic lights. As Steve said, they might jump off on a rough road, the fenders really shake. They may do better stuck on the side of the body.

I agree with Robert re the E-lights. Sorry E-lights...but after an initial good luck with them, they just went downhill, and even after returning one of three sets to be "looked at", they still acted up. I don't have them anymore. My '13 I just use good old fashioned hand signals for the moment. On the Fordor, I did just what Jeff Hood suggested, mounted a tail lamp on the right rear fender that is period looking, and in the front I mounted two amber turn signals that basically are for Model A's, as found in Snyders Catalog. I modified the tail lamps with the double contact sockets, so now I have a fantastic set of tail/stop/turn signals back there. Put some
aluminum foil behind the bulbs, and they are BRIGHT! No need to screw around with all this expensive LED stuff, these things do the trick!

The combo light bar works very well. Would not be portable but can been seen a long way off. I like mine! 6 volt too!
