Does radiator year matter for early or late front motor mount?
Hi all, does the kind of radiator or radiator trim matter for using a early or late front motor mount? Specifically 1916 style brass radiator with a late front motor mount?

That should not be a problem. 1917 still had the old type front engine mount, and the new low radiator. The later high radiator fits the same way. The only snag I can think of is the high radiator with deep apron that has the hole to screw to the engine mount will have no place to go.

The later mount should work with your brass radiator, but I'd hold out for an early-type mount because they're stronger.

You see lots of parts salads for sale that have brass radiators over 21-27 spring clips. Fit is no problem. But I would go with the earlier clip as Mike says.

Because you are using a 1926-27 frame I wouldn't worry about using the late front motor mount you already have. If it bothers you get a early mount, be sure to get the U bolts with it. Good U bolts with good threads are the hardest part to find but out there.

Is your Y front mount part of the original T trailer ? If yes I would keep it, you have worked so hard on using other trailer parts.

I thought this was about a car. Why would anyone install a radiator on a trailer?
