Where can you find new Model T parts?
Hello. Let's say you need to repair your Model T. Let's say the radiator has sprung a leak or the wheel bearings need to be replaced. Where can you find such parts? Which websites do you recommend you find any new parts for the Model T? Do they still make Model T parts? Thank you

Lang's is my first choice, but many others, Snyders, Mac's, Chaffins, Birdhaven, and several others, some that specialize in building and or improved parts and then the likes of tires, radiators, electrical, springs, heads, many I've mist as the list is long.

Re: Where can you find new Model T parts?
I recommend all of the above. There are also some specialist parts companies such as Rocky Mountain Brake Co and Brassworks Radiator. Lucas Tire and Coker Tire. Of all the old cars the Fords are easiest to find parts for.
If you join the club, the Vintage Ford Magazine, which is the Club's publication has many advertisements for the parts. There are also some speed equipment parts companies too. Most will be found in the Vintage Ford.

The closest to you would be Chaffin's Garage in Corona, CA. Not only do they sell parts they are also a manufacturer. Dave is the counterman. Call and tell him what you need and it will be on the next UPS truck to leave. Probably the best catalog of any of the vendors. http://chaffinsgarage.com/

Re: Where can you find new Model T parts?
Chaffin’s Garage in Corona, CA. They are very very helpful and local. I have emailed photos of what I am looking for and they have been very helpful in identifying what I need and very helpful giving advice re: parts/supplies for repairs and maintenance.
Both Dave, who mans the shop counter and phone line, and Mark Chaffin are very technically knowledgeable about everything T.
Prices are reasonable and advice is very valuable. If you don’t see a part in their catalogue, I would still recommend you call them as they carry additional items not listed in their catalogue.
Also, you might want to consider joining the Long Beach Model T Club (www.lbmtc.com).
The LBMTC holds monthly General Meetings about informative topics and holds a monthly Saturday Garage in Garden Grove, CA where you can bring your vehicle and get advice and assistance working on you car.

I would start by clicking on the header at the top of this page. You will be directed to the Model T Ford Club of America website, once there click on RESOURCES and then the drop-down MODEL T FORD SUPPLIERS. A pretty good list of suppliers and services, or just click the link below:

Re: Where can you find new Model T parts?
Here's a partial list of sources for general parts. There are also specialists who provide parts and services for specific Model T features. See the Model T Times and the Vintage Ford for their ads, and lists of suppliers on the MTFCA and MTFCI websites.
Although the question is about new parts, I should point out that some parts are only available used. Some because they're so common that new ones aren't needed, and some because they are not needed widely enough to pay for reproducing them.

Re: Where can you find new Model T parts?
Many parts sold by vendors are made by somebody else.... sometimes you can save $$ or find parts when they are in short supply at the vendors by tracking down the source. It comes with experience. Keep up with this forum and you'll educate yourself on the supply situation. Where you're going someone else has already been

Yes, there's a reason for that. Some of us have had at least one less-than-satisfactory experience with them, and prefer to deal with others.
Actually there are a couple of other general parts suppliers I haven't yet added to the list. That's a little project I need to do soon.

Re: Where can you find new Model T parts?
You need to shop around and all so consider shipping costs. As Jeff stated many parts that suppliers sell are sourced from the same manufacturer and in some cases are made by the supplier themselves. I often find MAC's (same company as Eckler's) to be higher in shipping costs.Jonah D'Avella wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 10:47 amonly company I don't see listed here is Mac's antique auto.
Least expensive supplier for plugs and a few other items is https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/for ... l4,1485418 Just select MAKE then YEAR and sub category. They don't have a lot of items but the often are the lowest

Re: Where can you find new Model T parts?
And to complicate what has been said above, some new is inferior to new old stock, and other new parts are better. Example, SKAT crankshafts. However, some parts which show when you look at the car are not the same, such as Champion spark plugs. The older ones could actually be disassembled for cleaning where the newer ones must either be discarded or sandblasted to clean.
And some bolts and nuts are just not available with the same type heads. Etc. Etc.
