I seem to have a lot of excess thread on the front engine mount. Is something missing?
The spring has 7 leaves.

That is a 26-27 Front Bearing with the boss/hole for securing the apron, it would also be for an 8 leaf spring. But is that the 1164-B Front Bearing and Spring Clip Assembly for the TT Truck, using a 9 leaf spring? The non-TT part would be 3076-B. Either one of those points would explain the "extra" thread, not enough spring leaves.

Strange indeed! It must be for a truck, but where are the holes for the cotter pins? Since it is incorrect anyway, I would replace it with the correct one.

Could be someone ran the castle nut off after breaking off the cotter pins - seen it happen more than once !

An 8th leaf and a proper castle nut will take car of at least 3/8" of that extra thread. Then check for the split pin holes. Or, find a correct replacement.
