Got lucky!!
I only use a trace amount of antifreeze all year so i drain both old cars in the winter. While i was draining the Model A i happened to see it's time for a new fan belt!! I ordered one and she who must be obeyed said you don't need it now, your not going to drive it this winter!! If the good looking belt had not stopped where it was i might have never seen it until it was too late! Merry Christmas!! Bud.

Re: Got lucky!!
Wife would say order it now because you will forget later and furthermore put the spare on it now before you forget. She doesn't want to be broke down due to negligence.

Re: Got lucky!!
Dallas,I do not have it off yet but i called Brattions and one is on the way. If i buy Model A parts i go to Brattions because of the help in their catalog.. I have not changed a model A belt in 50 years but they said to take the gen pully off!! Now my idea of getting lucky is spoting the defect before it stranded us!! Bud. PS, Full CT Scan in the morning!!! What Fun!!! Bud.

Re: Got lucky!!
You do not need to take the fully off. Loosen the nut on the bolt that has the gen tight and slip the old belt off and the new one on. Pull the gen down and the belt will be tight. tighten the nut.

Re: Got lucky!!
Adjustable belt tension or no, I'm glad you ordered the belt before telling you did if I read it right.
I should try that for just a couple more OT parts manuals!
But the A's have a nice belt adjusto bracket, don't they? You guys are just messing with us. Remove the genny pulley........
That's gonna stick in some brains ya know...
Keep us in the loop about the CT scan.
Tim, I gave up on that crazy notion a long time ago. Unachievable.
Float the river THRU the rapids on your raft and the gentle pools will be next.

Re: Got lucky!!
The Belt is on and While the adjustment was all the way off the belt still had to be rolled on! That could be why the catalog mentioned removing the Gen pully??? Bud. Ps, Grandson did it and i watched. Bud.
