Can anyone identify this tail light attachment?

Hi all,
I took this off my "new" 27 tudor. I haven't seen any example of the upper housing anywhere. Does anyone know what it's from or what it does? I'm guessing it's a stoplight, but again, I've not seen any other examples. It has a bracket that holds it on to the tea cup clear glass light. Thanks in advance.

After market add-on stop light.

To me it looks like a homemade add on. Is that old friction tape between the two lights? I would guess that someone drilled a hole in the tea cup and added the stop light on top.

Thanks folks,
That IS very old friction tape. Took me awhile to get it off. Like unwrapping a mummy!

That would be neat to restore and use again! But finding the red glass lens for the add on stop light would be almost impossible. Maybe a red celluloid lens was used?
Bet there’s not many left that’s survived.

If it’s been homemade they did a good job of getting it in the shape that it is.

Here is a picture from a 1926 Western Auto Ford owners supply book.
One is really close to the one you have. It clamped on and was a easy way to have a stop light.

The lower part appears to be a 26-27 tail light.

I just sold one at the Luray Swap in Oct. Was complete, with lens, but also was a bit more deLuxe with a blue glass 'eye' above the nickel rim. It glowed too when the stop lamp was lit..
