Hello:
I am restoring a 27 coupe (American Car). The car was relatively complete and original.
The front license plate was mounted by a couple clamps that wrapped the headlight bar.
I did not think this was original.
I was wondering if anyone had supporting documentation of this or were they all mounted on a bracket that came off the front engine mount?

When the bumpers became an option, the front bumper blocked the view of the front plate when mounted under the radiator. They offered the clamps to mount on the headlight bar so the plate could be located higher in front of the radiator.

My '27 has the plate bracket mounted below the crank lever. I don't know if it is original or not, but it looks to be so.

If it was a Canadian car, I had some of those made a couple of years ago that mount the plate just under the left headlight. I might have one available

Not sure if the two hole one is correctly constructed

These are examples of original Ford front license plate holders sans the early 2 pc. ones. The 3 side by side are stamped '26 - '27 - why the one has an additional hole is puzzling. The single one at top is pre '26.

This is my Canadian bracket, if any one would like more detail, I'm here.
