An advertisement for a "better" ignition system for a Ford was being advertised in Australia in 1923. Called a N. C. Synchronised Ignition.
As was usual it was a wonderous product and the ad gives several reasons why it was so.
Has anyone seen such a product? or have any idea as to what it actually is? Could be a timer elevator type product or possibly something completely different. The product would most probably be from the USA seems sales in Australia at the time would not have warranted manufacture here but I could be wrong, as I often am.

Given the description of “does away with the commutator”, “makes the contact breaker accessible”, and “uses only one coil”, it sounds to me like a distributor set up. It might not be exactly like a regular distributor, I’m not sure how it would work with a stock ford coil, as the ad copy implies.
Maybe somebody else has more specific info...

Might be one of these units, with distributor points mounted on drive from cam, where the timer would be. These used 1 of the 4 trembler Ford coils and the Ford flywheel AC magneto to fire the plugs. Or you could use storage battery and run a single trembler coil off 6v DC.

Thanks Dan, that is the same description as the NC. looks like the extra lead going to the base of the distributor head is the wire from the coil.
If anyone finds an actual advertisement (or an actual unit) I would appreciate a photo.

Just haven't found an "N.C" version of these 'distributor points' type units that used one of the Ford trembler coils for power source to the plugs. The N.C. may have been Great Britain origin?
There were many mfg. making these from 1914 to 1925.

The American Bosch 600 Distributor had several configuration options. One of them would use just one Ford Coil the page 5 instructs how to wire it for 1 coil
