Don't know that much about the early Fords. Can someone verify if this is a K model and what year you think it is. This post card is post marked August 1911. Thank you in advance for your responses.

The blue K was Rob's before he got the red K.

The one in the picture looks like a 1907.

An automobile parade by Medford, Oregon businessmen to entertain Californians. I guess cars were such a novelty back then that folks would line the unpaved street to see a few of them drive by. There is a horse drawn carriage (wagon wheel) to the far right. I wonder what the townsfolk thought of that odd new smell of exhaust filling the air and the chug chug sound of the engines. I would have liked to have seen that. Jim Patrick

Lyndon: Are you descended from the family who owned the hotel in the background? Nice photo, thanks for posting.

James, As far as I know, I am not related to the proprietors of the motel. But who knows distantly.

Rob, It was nice talking to you. We made it back home. I got the picture back out and looked at it. There was writing on the front that was trimmed off. And there was writing on the back. It was postmarked August 1, 1911. It was sent to Lincoln Nebraska. I am reposting the front side with the writing, as well as the back side. If you cannot read it, let me know and I will try to post what it says. Lyndon[/attachment]

Lyndon, thanks for reposting and adding the back. Looks like it was addressed to Earl H. Davis. There was an Earl H. Davis who graduated Lincoln High in 1907. He graduated from the University of Nebraska class of 15 in library science. He worked in ND, then St. Louis MO before shipping overseas during WWI. Last I read he was working in WY after the war.

I believe I know who owned this “K” and am working up a “story” about him and his wife.

If you can write what the front of the card says that would be great.
Thanks again,
Rob

The front of the card says

Autos are a common sight in Medford, more of them then other rigs
The young fellow without a car is ____ with a big share of the girls

At first I thought the ____word was "me". But I come more thinking it is a name. I just cannot make it out for sure.

Lyndon brought this Model K to my attention. After a little research, there is indeed a story here.

Mrs Reddy was a frequent driver of this Model K:

This photo of their car was taken in 1909. 100 Californians were taken by 50 autos to visit orchards in the Medford area:
