What was the actual size of the ball when new. How can you replace one if the old one is worn too small? Is anyone making new balls? Frank

The ball was forged steel, integral with two short studs that were riveted and brazed into the ends of the tubing.

Like so many do, you failed to mention the year of your car. The design of the wishbone changed significantly over the years. The early ones are somewhat difficult to find, but if you have a late one, find another wishbone.

OS car is improved..... looking for options. Could saw it off and weld another or could weld and fit to 1-1/4. Not sure which path
Is all ball ends made of the same material or did they change during a particular year? If I go the welding route it is a good idea to know what metal I am welding?
Thank you.

I checked a mint ball I have on a late wishbone, and as I recall, it is 1 1/8".
