Crank Handle

An original 1912- early 1914 crank handle and rivet sold on ebay this morning for $52. Did any of our members get it? My question is, the rivet. The photos didn't show it clearly. That rivet should have the high head like the hub bolts do. You almost never see anything like this. Great find!

Adam. I'm sure you do, but do any of them have the domed head like all the early ones do?

I finally got to my swap meet bins and dug them out. Here they are. I’d take $50 for a NOS pin and sleeve. Let me know. A pin only would be $20.

Here's a copy of an "early" original - slotted dome head & threaded for nut on backside.

I believe that’s a ‘10-‘12 handle & pin in your picture.
The sleeve in my picture is ‘14-‘22. The late ‘12-‘14 sleeves are aluminum. I believe all the late ‘12-‘22 pins should be interchangeable.

I just checked both of my '13s and my early '14 and they all have the convex domed high head rivet just like the hub bolts. Why doesn't any one make them?

I always thought the aluminium handle was correct for early 12.
Not sure now which one is actually correct. Seems to overlap in this catalog.

Not a good idea to rely on modern repro parts catalogs!

Absolutely! There "repro" ("will fit") parts all years. Some may match some years or none. The INTERNET & Forum can help resolve. There were repro 19-25 coil box lids that looked good from across the street but were spot welded instead of tabs and had warped sides. Vendors don't sell them anymore. There are many good reproductions and enhanced parts (made for safety or improved maintenance) too but as they say
Caveat emptor

So which crank handle is correct.
Is 11/12 and 13/14 the same.

Just for more interest, factory print on the alum handle with the lathe turning, note the finish comments as 'Black Enamel' Last rev date is Jan 1912
