Would someone post the correct size and type of bolts and nuts needed to fasten the cowl to the body and to the firewall please. My car had a mismatched variety when disassembled. There are four places to fasten to the firewall and two or more to the body I think, please correct me if I am wrong, Thank You [/size][/b]

Thanks for posting Rich. Are the two upper fasteners Carriage bolts? What is the wrench size for the two upper hex nuts?

Yes, the upper are carriage bolts too. I couldn't measure the heads but they are not the extra small ones like on fenders or coil boxes. The nuts are slightly bigger than 1/2 with the rust on them. Getting a standard 1/2 open end wrench would be tight. The bolts are 5/16". This is a '24 Tudor but the bolts would be the same.

Don't forget the piece of felt that goes between the firewall and cowl. Yours takes five split rivets, which are the same ones used for the cowl lacing.

I would guess the two outer carriage bolts would be 1 1/2 or 2 inches long to get through the pillar where the center two are maybe 3/4 inch long or so.
