For those interested, the 2021 MTFCI Michigan Jamboree of T's is open for business. The website is updated and registration is open. The dates are August 25th to 28th and will include three days of touring Michigan's Thumb. Good model T roads, quaint small towns, miles of beautiful shoreline along Lake Huron, a good time guaranteed. Check it out at <http://www.michiganjamboree.org/>
I'm this year's co-chairman so feel free to contact me if you have any questions or special needs.

Re: Michigan Jamboree
Got word today that there is only one room left at the primary motel (Franklin Inn) so if you're on the fence, you might want to give the Ameriway a call soon. The Holiday Inn has also set aside some rooms but they'll cost more and parking isn't as good as the Ameriway. Lots of campsites available.
If we run out of accommodations in Bad Axe (shouldn't) we do have some contingency plans in place. The event is open to all MTFCI members from any state, province or nation

Re: Michigan Jamboree
Just to let you know that planning for the Michigan Jamboree is moving ahead smoothly. If you plan to attend don't wait too long to make your motel reservations. Our campground is large so we have space for anyone who prefers to go that route.
Ford historians might be interested to know that we have arranged for our tour to drive thru the Harbor Beach Resort, a private community of lakeside "cottages" dating back to 1886. In the days before air conditioning, the affluent would often "summer" in such places to escape the heat.
Henry Ford had a cottage in the resort until WWI and used to drive the shoreline road (now M-25) between the cottage and Dearborn in a Model T. It was on one of those trips that Henry flipped his Model T when soft sand caused the front axle to turn under, leading to the eventual movement of the wishbone attachment to the bottom of the axle from the top.
Henry didn't build the cottage but he added to it. He loved to square dance and created a large ballroom in the cottage during his ownership. We'll be able see the exterior of the Ford cottage, an opportunity not afforded to many.
