Hot shot charger kit question.

Hello All,
I just installed a Hot Shot Charger Kit ( Langs hot-shot-c) in a 1913 runabout.
The Charger Kit work well but as I shut down the engine there is a red glow in the light bulb.
The mounting is done as on the paper that came with the kit.
What did I did wrong? the car is running great on magneto and battery. Get about 33Vac out of the magneto.
Maybe someone out there can help me.

Maybe you have the diode installed the wrong way or it's defective and allowing a small amount of current from the battery back thru it, but then you would not be charging the battery. Might want to also make sure nothing is grounded between the bulb diode.

The diode is shot 34.6 Ohm one way and 34.6 Ohm the other way should be open.
As I have no replacement, I was wondering if I can use a diode for a cutout as replacement?

That can't be good, letting power get back to the magneto.

Kerry,
I was afraid too but tested it yesterday without the hot shot charger and there is still 22Vac comming out the magneto when running the engine on a brisk idle and 32Vac when speeding it up than the 12W 21W blow out.
