These Puzzels appeared in Ford Owner and Dealer in mid- 1920’s.

IF you can guess this puzzle you are indeed a Model T expert!

The only place I can think that would use that small of bolt/screw would be something to do with the coil box switch. Maybe as a standoff where it mount to the box.

Starter ring gear indexer to flywheel.

Steve, I think that is correct. Tend to forget about those, they are so few and far in between.

His reply is correct on those little collars.

Hasn't changed after all these years. The factories still look at two cent parts that can be done away with to save a eight cents per car. It adds up over the number of cars they build each year. It would almost make sense if not for the fact that they will replace a simple push pull cable to open an air vent with a computer operated electronic switch and an electric motor to open the valve and if anything goes wrong with the system you need to replace hundreds of dollars of parts when the cable would cost ten bucks.

I may be living in the past, but I can still diagnose problems with a points and condenser ignition on the side of the road and fix it without a computer to tell me what parts to replace.

Well said Thomas. The money I've spent on our near 250,000 mile 2011 on electronic bits, light bulbs, actuators and fuses...

Two cents each...Add the additional machining cost of the flywheel and ring gear to that.
