1923-25 Touring Interior Trim

In undergoing a re-restoration of my 1924 Touring I have a question pertaining to the interior trim below the two rear doors adjacent to the floor. Attached are photos of each the left and right interior doorways showing two small irregular shape panels one either side of each door. I believe these to have been put there during the restoration back in the 1970s, but am not sure if it originally appeared this way. Can someone post photos of either an original 23-25 Touring or one that was restored correctly so I can replicate it here?

The former restorer added those vinyl pieces to each corner. The pre- '26 tourings didn't have any trim there.

Just plain, showing off the exposed wood framing which was black painted as the body was coated.

This is my 24, done by my dad, probably in the early 60s.
Correct ?? I don't know.

Leave it alone! Nothing goes there except paint!
