Stumbled onto this while sourcing materials for the company I work for. This is taken from the ENERPAC website. Wonder if they are referring to the OE or aftermarket pumps?

A close friend of mine collects 4 cyl. Essex automobiles. Essex made 6 cylinder cars after they discontinued the fours. The sixes were horrible cars and, in turn, ruined the reputation of a pretty good car brand. The problems were straightened out in a few years, but it was too late. The Essex became the Edsel of the 1920's.
Most of the four cylinder Essex cars came equipped with horns manufactured by E. A. Laboratories in New York. E. A. turns out to be the initials of Emanuel Aufiero, an Italian immigrant who came to the United States, along with his Brother, Michael, and invented the motor driven automobile horn, giving the world it's first "Ahoooga" horn.
If you're thinking what does this have to do with Model T's, I invite you to do a search with the words "E. A. Laboratories" and read the story posted by "The Brownstoner". It gives the history of the company and the involvement of the two Italian immigrant brothers with a certain man whose company made a ton of twisted brass bulb horns for early Ts and many other makes.
Hopefully you'll find it as interesting as I did.

Good story. Enjoyed reading it. Now where is that Valkyrie horn?
