Another batch of neat pics. Thanks Tom. Just amazes me the physical (cosmetic) condition of so many of these cars. Would be nice to know the time span from when they were taken off the showroom floor nice and shiny til the time the pic was taken. Me thinks in some cases, wasn't very long!

I was thinking the same thing Tim. I’ve noticed a lot of these cars have what looks like near new paint along with clean brass. I suppose that everybody took pictures of “My brand new car!”, with their brand new Brownie camera. I wonder how long that paint lasted if you took care of it. Guess we’ll never know.

These are really super, Tom - thanks for posting them.
This one appears to be a wide track car
This one is extra special.

You actually can tell the "southern track" cars for where the wheels are on the fenders... on a (pardon me) "Damyankee" car, the tires are pretty centered on the fenders, on a Southern tread, they are right on the outer edge.
I always wanted a Southern Tread set of axles and the matching wishbones, etc., as that 4" would increase the stability of a car fundamentally... it's been a pipe dream of mine since I was 11, and I know those cars are very few and far between, but it's an amazing part of Ford's history that they would make a car specifically for the "tobacco roads" and, well, yeah!

Always find it fascinating to see if any of the buildings in the photos have survived.

Susanne -
The wide track cars have fenders that flare out at the running boards. The back fender on this car flares that way and a standard tread car wouldn't. Normal fenders are 8" wide at the crown, wide track cars have fenders that are 10" wide and I'm pretty sure that's what I'm seeing on the front. I have some photos of a 1916 WT car somewhere that show the differences very clearly, but I can't remember where they are (which computer).
