One out of Four Good Headlights.

For the Hay wagon to Speedster project, I am now the proud owner from Chickasha acquisitions of 4 headlights of which only 1 is currently usable. Two are in good enough condition but the 'feet' on the mount rod where they fit into the fender hanger is side to side when my fender hangers slot is front to back. The other two are in rougher shape, one is good enough, but the 'feet' on the mount rod are front to back as they should be for this fender hanger. However, one of the two is in poor condition with the rim a bit torn the adjustment screw missing and it 'stargazes' a bit. Oh my. I do not see any obvious damage so I am not sure why it stargazes or what to do about it. The other one does not stargaze. I was able to retrieve reflectors and lenses from the two in rough condition but I am unsure how to proceed. I might be able to weld on the missing/torn piece?

Just heat it at the bend and make the adjustment. In the days, the only way to adjust the beam alignment was to use a bending bar to bend the light stalk.Get it close and make final adjustments once you have it functional.

If I wanted to graft the bucket support from one to the other what rivets should I use to put it back together?

I would first try to repair the gap. Take a length of a thin piece of metal and fold it into a u-shaped channel and JB-Weld it in place to look like the other good slots

Ignatio, by 'the torn piece' do you mean the break at one of the rim mounting points. Often they are rusted out at the bottom one, and what is left is really thin to try and weld to. I would cut a piece from one of the donor buckets, from the top /side, and graft the whole piece in place.If you make the cut at the ridge at the back, you have a solid edge to weld to and file to finish. The ends of the donor piece should also be easier to weld without having to contend with really thin parts.
